Motorola’s next foldable Razr smartphone was reportedly delayed just yesterday, but today the company revealed its release date: August 2nd. It will be joined at the same event by the Edge X30 Pro.
The launch is taking place in China, but it has long been rumored that the X30 Pro will be launched elsewhere, renamed the Edge 30 Ultra. However, it remains to be seen whether Razr 2022 (also called Razr 3 in the past) will ever escape China. But given the history of the Razr folding line, the odds are high. However, the initial announcement will take place in the home of Motorola owner Lenovo, which likely also means that these two models will be available in China first.
The Motorola Razr 2022 is a notable departure from its predecessors, as it will be powered by Qualcomm’s latest and greatest chipset, the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. This is in stark contrast to the 7-series chips used by previous Razrs.
